Security/session state and your consent preference.
Small Files. Clear Choices.
Scout needs a little storage to stay secure and remember your preferences. Analytics is optional and only loads after you choose to allow it.
Google Analytics / Tag Manager only after permission.

What Scout Needs
scout_session supports session security, CSRF protection and site state. scout_consent_v1 remembers whether you allowed optional analytics so we do not ask you on every page.
These are used to provide or remember choices you request and are not used for advertising.
Google Analytics
If you allow analytics, Google technology may create cookies such as _ga and related GA4 identifiers. They help us understand aggregate usage such as visits, page journeys, searches and feature engagement.
We do not enable analytics until you choose to allow it through Scout’s preference controls.
What We Measure
Where analytics is enabled, Scout may send events such as product views, guide views, searches and affiliate clicks. This helps us decide what to improve and which products/retailers need better coverage.
Advertising Stays Off
Our consent configuration keeps advertising storage, ad personalisation and ad-user-data permissions denied. If Scout introduces advertising or remarketing later, we will update the consent controls and this policy first.
Change Your Preference
You can reopen the preference panel at any time. Rejecting analytics does not prevent normal shopping research, product pages, price comparisons or guides from working.
